From Larkfield follow the A75 towards Millau for a short distance and through a long tunnel you enter the rugged landscape of Aveyron
The cliffs above Millau are great for hang gliding. The caves of Labeil are ideal for pot holing. The tracks around Lauroux offer opportunities for mountain biking, walking or horse riding. Some of the nearby minor roads are a motor biker's dream. General Aviation is much cheaper in France than the UK and Aircraft hire is possible from Montpellier. If you are into sporting activities this is the area for you.
Whilst at Millau (which has many attractions itself) do not forget to visit the Tarn Gorge, Montpellier le Vieux (amazing rock structures) and the Roquefort Caves where the cheese is made. The latest tourist attraction in the area is the new viaduct at Millau, which is the largest in Europe. If you go to Millau, you will not miss it and it has significantly reduced the journey time to Larkfield.

We recommend that you return via the Cause de Larzac, a wild and
windy plateau, famous for its sheep whose milk is used in the making of the
Roquefort cheese.
On the way back across Larzac, visit the areas held by the Knights Templar, La Couverturade and Le Caylar (with the amazing sculpted tree). The latter are only 15 minutes from Larkfield.
The Cirque de Labeil is exceeded by the Cirque de Navacelles which is also nearby but in the opposite direction
